Martial Arts or Mixed martial arts (MMA) requires a mastery of a large variety of skills. As an individual are coached to train outside of their natural movement in order to learn new skills.
Outside of accidents, I see injuries coming from 1 thing. Tissue overload.
It’s simple but can looked a little more complicated. That is because it can cause be multiple factors.
We are about to dominate using on thing and because of that there’s one can overly rely on that technique fatiguing the muscles and joints used for that technique which can result in too much load for the soft tissue’s capacity.
Taking shortcuts or overly focusing on 1 detail. Both result in expecting one thing to do too much. One needs a solid foundation or a big toolbox based around a solid foundation.

Train properly: Don’t hunt shortcuts, techniques take time to develop and there are different ways to do the same. If something’s not working the fundamentals need more working on, you don’t need to find a trick or a hack.
Wear protective gear: Wear a mouthguard, shin guards, and a cup when you are training or competing.
Listen to your body: If you are feeling pain, stop training and rest.
Recover: Don't overtrain and support your recovery. Give your body time to recover between workouts.

Strengthen your muscles: Strong muscles can help to protect your joints from injury.
